Too early...

So... occasionally I suffer from this little thing called Insomnia..yeah, it's pretty much THE most uncool thing ever. Tragically, after tossing and turning most of the night, I ended up being fully awake about three hours earlier than planned. Now normally this would make me beyond irritated..(okay, okay, I'm still slightly beyond irritated ;), but as I was lying in bed, I noticed the light beginning to creep its way through my window. It was so soft and beautiful I knew what must be done. Out came the camera!

Who would've thought a set of curtains and some blinds could be so lovely?? :)

I have to say, I think this might be my fav. Either that or the first one. But I love the contrasting black and white in this :).

And on a completely unrelated note, its officially Fall. Which means I'll soon be able to wear my favorite fall-ish/winter-ish beret-thing to my heart's content. :) Now that makes me happy :)

One Cute Kid

As previously mentioned, I've been dying to do a post featuring my darling lil' nephew, Jeff. Luckily, during a super-fun girl's day with his Mommy this weekend, I was able to snap a few photos of the child. Not only is he naturally beyond darling, but he's so cooperative! The second I pulled out my camera, he gave me the cutest little smile and said "Cheese!" True story. This kid is every photographer's dream.. Oh and yes, I'm still in my "Lightroom is the most amazing photo editing software in the world..." stage, so bare with me. ;)

So I've been trying to decide on a watermark I like and this is a potential. I still don't know what I actually want it to say though, or if I want it on my photos at all. Oh dilemma...

Why do I not have his lashes? Hmm??

Lightroom 3, how I adore you...

Can I just say how much I LOVE this editing software???!!! Oh my goodness, it's pretty much life changing and may or may not be the reason I have chosen to procrastinate homework and instead spend the last hour or so editing. I contemplated doing a before/after thing with this round of photos so you could see just what I mean about the epic awesome-ness of it all, but figuring out how to do that required too much brain power...and it's late....soooo, maybe in the future. For now, just take my word for it.

Something I particularly love about Lightroom is the pre-sets, which allow me to give a photo a certain look just by pushing a button! Adore.

Now, seeing as how I haven't had a whole lot of spare time to go out and shoot stuff, I've had to make do with the photos I have on file. (Which is probably why some of them look kinda familiar...(ex. California post...). Oh well, hopefully you enjoy them just the same:).

And in parting remember that : Adobe Lightroom 3 is fantastic.

The Road Not Taken...

Well I took it. What road you may ask? It's more like a path actually that winds around the back of my school. I'd been on it a few times in previous years, but hadn't ventured down it since it's 'face-lift.' Oh my beautiful-ness. Those landscape ppl surely know what they're doing :).

Some People I Love...

So, anyone who knows me knows that I think my family is pretty much the greatest ever. Hence the reason they are so often photographed. I just love them. :)

Now the first three photographs I took for a school project last semester. The class was like a Family Sociology class and I had to come up with three symbols to represent my family. What better symbols than the members themselves?

This is my bro. I just love him. His eyes symbolized the vision we have for our family as well as the responsibility we all take in 'looking out' for each other.

Doesn't my mommy have the most beautiful smile? :) I just love her. Her mouth represented the happiness we feel as a family, as well as the open communication we have.

True, this isn't my father but these are his hands. I just love him. I had the hands symbolize the unity of our family as well as the importance of our religion (prayer, etc.)
